A parfait is any dessert in which fruit, nuts, granola and so forth has been layered and folded into ice cream ,whip cream or custard. Various syrup, cream and custard
toppings are sometimes used.
Parfaits are generally served in a a tall narrow short
stemmed glass, which gives it more of an aesthetic appeal, but you can even us mason
jars or Dixie cups - basically whatever floats your boat.
There is no right or wrong way to make a parfait, recipes for parfaits should be
considered more as suggestions rather than something written in stone. Use your
imagination and create your concoctions. Berries, such as blueberries work well in
parfaits here's a few "recipe" suggestions for blueberry parfaits.
