Carrot Halvah

Halvah is a Turkish candy confection. Traditionally Halvah was made of sesame seeds flour and honey. The Carrot "Halvah" of this recipe, by that definition is not truly Halvah at all but is an east indian variation that mimics true Halvah. Cashews are used in place of sesame seeds and currants lend a fruity flavor.

Carrot Halvah



3 Large Carrots
1 tblsp. Condensed milk
1 cup Sugar
1 tblsp. Khoya
1 dozen Cashews
1 tblspn Currants


Take the carrot along with half the of sugar, cook covered on med-low flame for 15 minutes.

Add the condensed milk, khoya, and the rest of the sugar and cook uncovered for 5-10 minutes.

Garnish with the cashews and currants and serve.
