This unusual member of the curcbit klan produces 1.5 to 2 inch rounded oval variegated green prickly fruits. They are similar in appearance, but not in taste to cucumbers and Cucamelon . Cucumis canoxii are extremely bitter and most certainly not edible. It is cultivated, but its use is limited to its ornamental value in much the same fashion as Gourds.

Temperatures 75 to 85 Degrees F
Plant indoors in early spring. Don not transplant ouitdoors till temperatures have reached a sustained 80 + degrees F. Not suitable for outdoor cultivaion in all climatic zones.
