Recipes for No Sugar Added Grape Jelly and Jam
Added sugar is probably the most harmful ingredient in the modern diet. It has negative effects on metabolism, immune system and promotes many ailments.
Added sugars contain mega calories with no essential nutrients. It is the leading factor in Obesity.
Recipes for jelly, Jams and assorted preservatives generally call for exorbitant amounts of processed sugars, so much so that the natural sugars and flavors of the fruit in many cases is drowned out.
The recipes below are for Grape Jelly and Jam without added sugar.
Home Vinters Sugarless Grape Jelly
1 envelope unflavored gelatin 2 cups unsweetened grape juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice [Bottled or Fresh squeezed]
1 3/4 Tsp. Stevia Extract. If you do not have access to Stevia extract, another liquid sweetener will suffice but stevia is best.
Separate pulp from skins of grapes. Chop skins in blender.
Cook skins gently 15 to 20 minutes, adding only enough water to prevent sticking (about 1/2 cup).
Cook pulp without water until soft;press through food mill to remove seeds.
Combine pulp, skins and sugar.
Bring slowly to a rolling boil. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
Cook rapidly almost to jellying point 1 – about 10 minutes. Stirring Frequently
Pour boiling hot mix into sterilized jars.
